The HelmHR brand identity was developed to reflect the company’s core values of strength, confidence, and authenticity. Specializing in executive-level HR support, HelmHR required a modern, professional logo that would resonate with CEOs, executive teams, and HR leaders. The design features a sleek, minimalist approach, with carefully chosen colors that evoke trust and reliability—navy, grey, and white—avoiding bolder tones like red or orange. The logo incorporates a hidden “H” and “r” alongside a Koru, symbolizing growth and partnership. This design communicates HelmHR’s leadership and reassuring presence, aligning seamlessly with their mission to support and mentor HR teams.

HelmHR specializes in providing executive-level HR support on an interim or as-needed basis, mentoring for HR leaders and teams, and guiding organizations through change management. The company’s mission is to instill confidence in HR and executive teams by alleviating the stress associated with HR challenges, delivering a reassuring presence. HelmHR values authenticity, integrity, and a touch of humor, building trust through their expertise.

The brand’s core message is centered on strength, confidence, authenticity, and trust, catering to CEOs, executive teams, HR leaders, and HR departments. The logo was designed to reflect these qualities, featuring a modern and professional aesthetic. The color palette incorporates tones that communicate reliability and assurance, including green, royal blue, and classic black, while consciously avoiding colors such as red, pink, and orange.

The name “HelmHR” embodies the company’s approach of guiding leaders through challenges, fostering a strong sense of leadership and collaboration. As an award-winning HR executive, the founder’s personal brand—highly regarded within New Zealand’s HR community—aligns seamlessly with the HelmHR identity.

Design Approach

I’m proud to present five carefully curated logo options for HelmHR, each designed to capture the essence of its mission—instilling confidence in leadership through strength and authenticity. These concepts reflect HelmHR’s commitment to executive-level HR support, mentoring, and change management expertise, all while maintaining a modern, professional look.

The designs are crafted to resonate with HelmHR’s key audience: CEOs, executive teams, and HR professionals. Each option visually represents HelmHR’s core values, with a focus on leadership, partnership, and professionalism.

After reviewing the options, the client selected Logo Option 4, with a refined color palette. The final colors chosen are inspired by the serene beauty of the Otago Harbour, blending rich tones of navy and soft grey, symbolizing HelmHR’s calm yet dynamic presence.

Creative Inspiration

The HelmHR logo features a subtle integration of the letter “H” and “r” alongside a Koru, a symbol of new life, growth, and strength in Māori culture. The interconnected shapes represent partnership and collaboration—core elements of HelmHR’s philosophy. This design was conceptualized during my time in Queenstown, and the visual language captures the essence of HelmHR: professionalism, confidence, and authenticity.
